Calling all expectant or new parents – this might be you, but if not, please share this info with your friends, kids, grandchildren ... who are at this exciting stage in their lives ...
Thank you!

You probably know how I always stress that I teach TRE (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises) rather than treat my clients – because teaching is so much more empowering.
On a slightly different note and if you/the person you are thinking of would like to become an empowered parent, I'd like to draw your attention to:
The Bump to 1st Birthday With Confidence Summit*
You can transform your confidence levels by understanding your mind, body and your baby with this FREE event - just for expectant and new parents to make sure you/they will be the most confident expectant or new parent you/they can be!
And 🥁🥁🥁 drum roll 🥁🥁🥁 I'm one of the speakers.
To give you a sneak preview – I'll be talking about your TREmendously amazing body and how it can support you at various stages of motherhood and parenthood.
Each phase can bring its own set of physical and emotional challenges and TRE offers a gentle, natural, body-centred approach to support you through these pivotal stages.
Before Conception
While I would never promise that TRE can help you to conceive, it is a fact that many women can't conceive because they are too stressed.
Chronic stress can disrupt hormonal balance, hence affecting fertility. With TRE you can most certainly de-stress and find deep relaxation and equilibrium.
When we allow the body to relax deeply, when we physically relax the muscles, we calm the nervous system at the same time.
And then … all kind of magic can potentially happen.
During pregnancy
Some women who've learned TRE before pregnancy continue to tremor during these nine months, some until right before birth.
Having said that, as a matter of caution, it is not advised to learn TRE during pregnancy, hence I don't teach you when you are pregnant, just to be on the safe side.
Post Labour
Childbirth can be physically and emotionally taxing and many women experience postpartum shivers.
I've spoken to many mums who have and who told me that they were fairly unprepared and didn't get any explanation from their medical team – apart from the 'usual': “You must be cold, I'll get you some more blankets!”.
Postpartum shivers are your body supporting you to process the birth – even if it wasn't a particularly traumatic birth, it is still a huge amount of stress on the body.
Remember, shaking is one of the oldest medicines on earth and such an innate body response because the body does what it needs to do – if we allow it.
In my talk I'll share the response of the Swahili midwives who were learning TRE with David Berceli, PhD, the creator of TRE.
This shaking process wasn't anything new to them and they explained that “if a woman doesn't get a chance to shake after delivery, she will have problems later.”
Some Western midwives have confirmed this to me and I recently spoke to a mum who was shaking uncontrollably for the best part of half an hour after delivery – and she surrendered to it and trusted her body wisdom, although she wasn't sure what's happening and why.
It was an eye-opener when she learned the reasons for her shivers and she now claims that these were the reason that she didn't suffer from post-partum depression and was retrospectively thanking her body for it.
Everything in her life, a rocky relationship, an unsupportive partner, a traumatic birth would have pointed to post-partum depression.
I was super happy for this mum and if there's only one take-away from this post, please remember this and share this message widely.
As I always say:
Your body knows how to release stress. TRE just reminds it how.
Navigating Postnatal Depression
Postnatal depression affects many women and can significantly impact a mother's emotional and physical well-being as well as her relationships with her baby, partner and others.
It can lead to persistent sadness, loss of interest in activities, difficulty bonding with the baby and struggles with self-care and daily tasks.
Many women find support through cognitive therapies, which is great.
For some 'just' talking and analysing the situation is not enough, though.
I always remember the lecture by Bessel van der Kolk (the author of the bestselling book The Body Keeps the Score) when he said:
"Nobody talked you into anxiety, low mood, depression etc. - why do you expect to talk yourself out of it? We need to bring the body into the equation."
Hence, incorporating TRE can serve as a TREmendously helpful tool.
By facilitating the release of stress, emotional and physical, and promoting deep relaxation and safety, TRE provides a safe space to process these experiences, aiding in physical recovery and emotional integration.
By practising TRE, new mothers can reconnect with their bodies, fostering a sense of empowerment and well-being.
On top of that, TRE can also support the birthing partner, who might have gone through vicarious trauma/secondary traumatic stress, which is not uncommon at all.
TRE is empowering
As I always stress:
TRE is much more than a wee shake – it's a journey towards self-awareness and healing.
By working with your body's innate wisdom, you can navigate the challenges of parenthood with resilience and empowerment.
Yes, this summit is only about the early years, but having worked with menopausal women who felt constantly on edge and ready to explode – especially as their (teenage) kids know how to push their buttons – they now feel so much calmer, more resilient and composed.
Whether you're planning to conceive, are about to give birth, have recently given birth, are navigating the postpartum period or are a menopausal woman, TRE most certainly offers a nurturing path to holistic well-being and I'm here to teach you safely.
Obviously, TRE is not just for women or mums, but for men and children, too.
In fact, TRE is for everybody who wants to take their health and well-being into their own hands, well, body.
Natural. Innate. TREmendous.
